Very traditional tribal design SILVER ring. Bold and unusual. 

A lotus shaped centre hold a sturdy loop, silver bells must have been once attached.

The base is a heavy lotus-petal shape, covered with a beaded pattern in borders. The lower end of the petal holds another ring - designed for yet more attached bells. Often toe rings were designed to have attached bells.

The simple band is split and adjustable - it could be sized up to fit larger fingers.

ABOUT ORIENT EXPRESS VINTAGE SILVER RINGS

These authentic antique silver rings were collected in India in the 1970's and 1980's at “street level” markets in Rajasthan, the desert state known as the “Land of Kings”.  They are good real silver but were made for local villagers, before the .925 stamp was in common use for export. They were much-loved and carry the rich patina of years of wear that cannot be imitated.  I have cleaned them lightly to maintain the dark oxidization that highlights their old textures. Each is unique, please pay attention to the band size.  I like to imagine the stories that the hands who wore them could tell..
